Endless Sheet

Endless Sheet deals with the projected and moving image, using overhead projectors. Specifically this work breaks down the mechanics of animation (stop-motion animation, frame rate) and early computer programming (code, punch cards). The overhead projectors transfer the light that passes through holes in the loop of paper. A simple conveyor system that uses the electric motor from a car window rotates the paper.

The brown paper sheet is a score that the artist has played both musically with a pianola and here as a film. The piece is triggered by a motion sensor that begins a discrete performance.
